Student Achievers

Farmalytics seeks to enable farmers to make data-driven decisions in their daily farming practices, thereby ensuring a sustainable and consistently profitable model of agriculture. Through the use of on-field sensors that measure important parameters vital for crop growth and data analysis of the sensor data, we provide actionable information in several local languages to the farmers through both a web application and a mobile app.

  •   Secured first place at IIT Madras Exebit Devcon 2015,a nationwide application development contest, which was part of the IITM Computer             Science fest.
  • Secured first place in the Android Application Development Contest held at RACE '14 , JSS College of Engineering.
  • Secured first place in Project Presentation at JSS Samyog - A National Conference on Advancement in Information Technology.

  • Was the lead developer of two Android games - Knight Hopper and Solve! which are both on the Google Play Store. Both have a rating of 4.9/5.0.
  • Was the lead developer of Pineapple Express app, an Android App for a band called Pineapple Express Productions.
  • Developed the Official Android applications,both,for the 2nd International Conference On Transformations In Engineering Education (ICTIEE) and International Advanced Computing Conference (IACC) held at BMSCE in 2015.
  • Was the main resource person for Android First - An Android Workshop held by the Google Student Community at BMSCE.
  • Finalists at #Code 2014 and Ayana - Hackathons conducted by PES University.
  • Developed BMCSE's annual fest-  Utsav's official App,which had over 2000 downloads in one week.

Innovators Race Competition by Capgemini 

Ankit Agarwal and Chiranthan Mahipal of Inforamtion Science and Engineering Department had particiapted in the 

Innovators Race Competition by Capgemini. And Bagged First Place with a priz amount of 17 lakhs

Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services,  Two Information Science and Engineering students Ankit Agarwal (22) and Chirantan Mahipal (20) known as team ‘Technetium’, took first prize for their comprehensive e-learning platform designed to bring education to all in India.

Innovators Race participants had to design solutions to real life business challenges set by global brands. ‘Technetium’ was asked by Reliance Jio, the Indian telecom and digital operator, to create an innovative learning platform where teachers and students can connect without cultural or lingual barriers.

What The Hack 2.0 contest 

ISE Rahul B, Shubham Kanodia and Chirag Shenoy participated in the student Edition of  What The Hack 2.0 contest organised by SAP Labs, Bangalore on 13th-14th December 2014 as members of team Sema-4. This contest centered on the theme of “Cloud, Analytics and UI" and required teams to build solutions to real-world problems. Students won the first place in the contest along with prizes they have been offered with internships at SAP.


Kausthub Narayan .B participated in the Ideathon, Organized by 14th  International Conference on VLSI Design and Embedded Systems at PESIT, Bangalore on  Jan 3- 5, 2015. Only 25 teams were selected all over India to participate in the event, selection criteria was on the idea proposed. The idea presented by our students was highly appreciated by the committee members of the conference. They presented how the delay caused to the ambulance due the signal light turning green can be considerably reduced. The solution was proposed through a working model using IOT technology.

Smart India Hackathon 2017

'Smart India Hackathon 2017' is a pan India 36 hour nonstop digital programming competition. The participating teams will simultaneously compete from across 33 locations in India to offer digital yet sustainable innovative solutions to solve real time challenges faced by the nation.

This world’s biggest digital movement was initiated by Govt. of India in November, 2016. The main focus is to encourage engineering students to exhibit their talents for designing solutions for various problems in 29 ministries.  Each engineering college across the country was asked to submit proposals from 6 teams with 6 members in each team (1 female student as mandate) and two mentors for a team.

The team TRAILBLAZERS, from Department of ISE,BMSCE  that proposed solution for ticket checking system( Ministry of Railways) was selected out of 64 submissions for the same problem for the grand finale held at Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan on April 1st & 2nd 2017. The team competed with 8 other teams for the same problem. The ministry choose 8 solutions for 8 different problems and the proposed solution by our team was selected as the best solution for Ticket Checking System problem. TRAILBLAZERS Team included Dr. N Sandeep Varma, Mrs Indra R  as mentors  and Kumar Divya Rajat, Medha Bharadwaj , Neha, Harshitha Jain  and Riana  students from ISE department.

Great West Hackathon

Great west Hackathon  was organised by the company Great West at BMS College of Engineering on 27th september 2017 for 3rd and 4th year students of ISE,CSE and ECE.The students were asked to solve two coding questions in a time span of  90 minutes. The 1st and  2nd prize was bagged by  Mithun P and Dinesh of 4th and 3rd year students of ISE. They won  prize amount of  Rs 75,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively. 


Siemens MakeIt Real Hackathon 2017

A National level Hackathon  “Siemens MakeIt Real Hackathon 2017” was  conducted by Siemens At BMS College of Engineering on 25th and 26th of September 2017. The event involved 48 hours of rigorous coding to develop and innovate.  Harshith Sharma ,Sneha Kannan, Ankit Sinha , students of 3rd year were first runner up and bagged a prize amount of Rs 1,05,000

IIT Rookee Appfluxus-Android

BMS College of Engineering participated in AppFluxus 2017, conducted by IIT Roorkee in association with Cognizance. A workshop was conducted and BMSCE served as a zonal center for the same. Following this, a contest was organized, and students were shortlisted to attend the national championships at IIT Roorkee. Teams bagged both the first place and third place.

         The inauguration of Engineers Without Borders, EWB-Bengaluru Student Chapter was on , 11 Nov 2017.

Dr. Shaukat Ali Mirza, President, Dr V Dillibabu, Founder and Mr. Manjunath, Director, EWB-B along with Principal, BMSCE graced the occasion.

2. Was a the main emcee for UTSAV 2017 .Hosted the inagural event starring Mr,Jaggesh ,  Femina miss india Miss. Sushruthi krishna and many more.Also hosted the fashion show event. I currently head the EMCEE CLUB.

1. Top 7 (winner) amongst 3000 contestants at the PHOENIX MARKET CITY BNAGALORE. This is a fashion event judged by film star Yash, kavya shetty , Wanitha Ashok. 

2. A fashion model, having done lot of shows for varied designers across Bangalore.

3. Hosted the event "PROTEST AGAISNT DRUG ABUSE" at Lalbagh on 25th Feb 2018 . This was in collaboration with Bengaluru city police, and MS SQUARE NETWORKS.

4. Host and speaker for the event at LE-MERIDIAN on 2nd march 2018. An event hosted by the PRINICPAL DR.K MALLIKARJUN BABU. A collaborative event between the college and IT companies across Bangalore.

5. Hosted the KARNATAKA CIVIL DEFENCE EVENT that happened on 13 march . This event was graced by MR.DANISH SAIT, JUSTICE M.RAMA JOIS  and many more commanding officers of karnataka.
